Teresa K. Salazar, Superintendent of the Moriarty-Edgewood School District, is a proud New Mexico native. She received her BS from ENMU and her MA in Administration from NMHU.

Ms. Salazar has been in the field of education for 30 years, having been a teacher for 10 years and in administration for the last 20 years. She has served as Curriculum Director with the Los Lunas Schools; and as Edgewood Elementary School Principal, Director of Learning Services, Assistant Superintendent, and currently as Superintendent with the Moriarty-Edgewood School District (MESD).   

Ms. Salazar believes in always doing what’s best for students and their academic success. She has a strong focus on technology and helped the district become the first Google Reference District in NM. She has also led MESD in becoming the first district to have all staff receive Trauma-Informed Care Training. Building relationships with students and their parents is a priority.  

Ms. Salazar is a member of the Greater Edgewood Chamber of Commerce and the Moriarty Rotary Club. As a Rotarian, she has worked with students to charter the first Rotary Interact chapter at Moriarty High School and is the chapter sponsor. She also serves on numerous committees to enhance the local communities that the district serves including the Torrance County ACT Workforce Ready Community initiative.
