Mission: Graduate, United Way of Central New Mexico’s education initiative, in partnership with Harrison, Ernie Pyle, and Polk middle schools seeks employers interested in talking to students about professions in their organizations during the annual career day.

Pride to Profession Eighth Grade Career Day will be held on Friday, Sept. 20 at Rio Grande High School from 9 a.m. to 12:30.

Interested employers should plan to talk to students about the types of jobs available including skills and education needed, salary, etc. They should also plan to bring some type of hands on activity. There is no cost for participating.

Career day provides opportunities for students to explore job possibilities through discussions and experiential activities. About 480 students are expected. It is one element of the College and Career Readiness Strategy in which we work to improve students’ understanding of and exposure to potential careers by creating a better system to connect students to high-quality exploration opportunities.
