Working to Strengthen Partnerships Between Educators and Employers

Our Employment Network is working on three separate projects with three school districts to increase degree attainment.

Summer Teacher Academy

To help ensure that students gain the skills they need to meet the demands of our community’s employers, Rio Rancho Public Schools is partnering with local employers to develop a three-day Summer Teacher Academy.

The purpose of the Summer Teacher Academy is to help high school math teachers better integrate technology into the math curriculum and to build stronger partnerships with local employers.

Senior Capstone Project

In Bernalillo several students are partnering with businesses to develop a Senior Capstone Project that provides hands-on, career-oriented projects that will help give students the skills required by local employers.

Once complete, the project will become a requirement for future graduating seniors.

Graduate Profile

Albuquerque Public Schools is working with area employers and other stakeholders to develop a Graduate Profile. The profile will list core competencies that students need to know to succeed beyond high school and will be integrated into the school district’s academic master plan.
