Strengthening Partnerships Between Educators and Employers

Our Employment Network is working with local school districts to increase degree attainment.

Summer Teacher Academy

To help ensure that students gain the skills they need to meet the demands of our community’s employers, Rio Rancho Public Schools is partnering with local employers to provide a Summer Teacher Academy to help math teachers better integrate technology into the math curriculum and to build stronger partnerships with local employers. The 2016 academy focused on high school teachers and the 2017 academy is helping fifth through eighth grade teachers.

Graduate Profile

With help from local employers and the community, Albuquerque Public Schools developed a Graduate Profile. The profile explores core competencies that students need to know to succeed beyond high school and will be integrated into the school district’s academic master plan. Click here to see the profile.

The Valencia County 21st Century Workforce Team is also developing a Graduate Profile using feedback from focus groups with area employers, educators, and community members to identify the core competencies high school graduates need to succeed in Valencia County.
