Working to Improve Access to Career Exploration Opportunities for Students

Mission: Graduate’s Employment Network is working to improve students’ understanding of and exposure to potential careers by creating a better system to connect students to high-quality career exploration opportunities, such as internships, job shadows, career fairs, and others.

The initial goal was to identify 20,000 career exploration opportunities in central New Mexico. To date, 31,712 have been identified. This team will now work to identify additional existing internships and other career exploration experiences and invite employers to sign on to the initiative.

Key Partnerships

We are partnering with the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions to utilize the state jobs data systems for internships and other career exploration opportunities. We are also providing support to school and college personnel, as well as youth-serving organizations, to help connect students with employers.

In addition, we provide support to employers that want to build, grow, or improve a career exploration program.
