We're pleased to announce that Jessica Nojek has joined Mission: Graduate as its Executive Director. Jessica will oversee a team of employees under the leadership of UWCNM’s Chief Strategy Officer, Angelo Gonzales, who is the previous Mission: Graduate Executive Director.
Jessica most recently served as the Statewide Youth Engagement Coordinator at the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions (NM DWS) where she worked to empower statewide partners with promising practices in youth engagement, strategies for strengthening coordination with youth agencies and organizations, and promoting statewide awareness of the unique workforce needs of New Mexico’s young people. This work included managing the creation and content for the state’s first online hub for internships.
Jessica has been a long-time partner and friend to Mission: Graduate, serving as a member of our Employer Engagement Team and actively participating in the Employment Network,” said Gonzales. “We know her passion for educational attainment for all young people will translate to more success for our region.”
Prior to her employment at NM DWS, Nojek worked for Innovate+Educate, the Greater Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, and the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities in Washington, DC.
The Mission: Graduate work in our community has not only affected the way central New Mexico is collectively looking at how we can better support our educators, young people and employers in a common goal to increase the number of degrees and certificates, it has also greatly affected me and where I feel like I can make an impact in this work. I am grateful for this opportunity to not only be closer to its vision and values, but also be a part of a talented and passionate team that has inspired me to take a new journey with them," says Jessica.
