Our ECAP (Early Childhood Accountability Partnership) team hosted the second Connections + Capacity Lunch & Learn to discuss mental health.
Guest speaker Liz Martinez, President of the NM Association for Infant Mental Health, delivered a presentation on the work of infant mental health providers, the endorsement process, and how to identify families in need and refer them to an infant mental health provider. This was followed by a discussion on how professionals supporting young children and families can work together differently to better support one another and the families they serve.
“It’s our goal to build the capacity of local service providers and increase knowledge and awareness of community resources to improve referral practices and better serve young children and their families,” says Tracy McDaniel, ECAP coordinator.
The meeting generated a list of ideas that will be used to identify topics and plan future Lunch & Learn events.
Connections and Capacity Lunch & Learn sessions are held quarterly at Explora, located at 1701 Mountain Rd., NW. The next two sessions will be held on Aug. 17 and Nov. 16 from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m.
