We are pleased to announce that Angelo Gonzales, Mission: Graduate’s current Executive Director, has accepted the Chief Strategy Officer position here at United Way of Central New Mexico (UWCNM).

In this new position, Angelo will help set the strategic direction for UWCNM in line with the organization’s new Impact Agenda. In this role, he will continue to support the Mission: Graduate Vision Council and will remain deeply involved in Mission: Graduate’s efforts to achieve our big goal.

In addition, he will help get UWCNM’s new “Mission: Families” initiative off the ground. The vision of Mission: Families is resilient children and families, free from adverse childhood experiences, in central New Mexico.

This change will be beneficial to Mission: Graduate, as it will allow me to focus more of my time and energy on the kinds of activities that will allow us to grow our strategies to scale, while ensuring that the full weight of UWCNM’s resources and partnerships are mobilized in support of our common goals,” says Gonzales.

What does that mean for Mission: Graduate?

Plans are in place to hire a Mission: Graduate Executive Director who will oversee the day-to-day management of the backbone staff and will be responsible for executing the strategies developed over the past couple of years.

Until the position has been filled, Angelo will continue to oversee Mission: Graduate’s day-to-day work. Moving forward, he will continue to oversee budgeting, fundraising, public policy, and strategic partnerships for Mission: Graduate.
